Denver, CO – June 5, 2018 – zümXR®, the Denver-based developer of time-release delivery systems announced that its abstract “A Comparative Pharmacokinetic Evaluation of Caffeine in Two Different Delivery Vehicles in Healthy Adults” has been accepted for poster presentation (display) during the ISSN 15th Annual Conference and Expo to be held June 7-9, 2018 in Clearwater Beach Florida USA. Douglas Kalman PhD, RD, FACN, FISSN, an internationally recognized researcher, will present the poster at the conference.
The abstract, to be published in the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition, presents data comparing plasma levels of different caffeine delivery vehicles between groups of healthy adults. The abstract also characterizes the relative absorption and PK characteristics of the immediate release caffeine and the extended release caffeine.
Sam Reinhold, PhD, zümXR’s Chief Scientific Officer said, “The results of this randomized twoway counterbalanced cross over pharmacokinetic trial have important implications on how athletes ingest caffeine as an ergogenic aid.”
